And what's your point? Cuba hosts millions of tourist per year?
Just like China, Vietnam, ....And what about Thailand, DR, Costa Rica, mexico and peru, all of which host tourist (international) , yet the local population gets very little benefit from tourism.
Many studies have shown for example that tourism, on balance, is bad (in terms of development) for local population in Jaimica, etc. . .
futhermore, most (98 percent )cubans living in cuba are very pro-tourist.. even the anti-castro folk in Cuba - do NOT hold animosity toward tourists - in fact if you ask the dude on the street they woudl say they want more tourism
So if average cubans (not exiles) desire more tourists, even under the current repressive conditions, why do you advocate against their wishes by critizing all tourists who go there?
Anti-fidelists in cuba don't - aside form the ones getting money from USAID
What an idiotic comment. If you want to visit countries with terrible human-rights abusing regimes I suggest you start with North Korea.
The owner of this blog is from Australia, don't talk to him about how "bad" tourism is.
Tourism is good, but people should have a conscience about where they visit and no be enabling terrible dictatorships.
